چکیده

In this paper we present a novel concept to efficiently harvest vibrational energy at low frequencies and very small displacement. We describe evaluate an electromagnetic harvester which generates power from magnetic circuit with motion induced variations of air gap. External vibrations induce oscillations the gap length around equilibrium point, due linear spring counteracting force. The relative position can be adjusted optimize output for excitation amplitude frequency. A simulation model is built in COMSOL verified by comparison lab measurements. used determine potential performance proposed under both harmonic non-harmonic excitation. Under excitation, achieve simulated RMS load 26.5 μW 22 Hz 0.028 g acceleration amplitude. From set comparable EH highest theoretical metric 1712.2 µW/cm3/g2 while maintaining largest bandwidth 81.8%. Using measured vibration data, mean 0.039 g, resulted 52 μW. Moreover, simplicity robustness our design makes it competitive alternative use practical situations.

Mechanically-Tunable Composite Filter at Low Frequencies

Previous studies into the possibility of a plasmonic medium of a coiled conductor array in air have shown promise. This work serves to evaluate the possibility of creating a mechanically-tunable composite filter at low frequencies. Copper springs were created with varying starting pitches using a coil winder. These springs were then embedded into a flexible host polymer. The mechanical and elec...

Low-Frequency, Low-G MEMS Piezoelectric Energy Harvester

This paper reports the design, modeling and fabrication of a novel MEMS device for low-frequency, low-g vibration energy harvesting. The new design is based on bi-stable buckled beam structure. To implement the design at MEMS scale, we further proposed to employ residual stress in micro-fabricated thin films. With an electromechanical lumped model, the multi-layer beam could be designed to achi...

Wi-fi Energy Harvester for Low Power Rfid Application

In recent years, active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags have crossed into ultra low power domain. With obvious advantages over passive tags, a setback for active tag growth is the need for battery replacement and limited operational life. Battery life could be extended by scavenging surrounding Wi-Fi signals using rectenna architecture which consists of a receiving antenna attached t...

Dual-band, Dynamically Tunable Plasmonic Metamaterial Absorbers Based on Graphene for Terahertz Frequencies

In this paper, a compact plasmonic metamaterial absorber for terahertz frequencies is proposed and simulated. The absorber is based on metamaterial graphene structures, and benefits from dynamically controllable properties of graphene. Through patterning graphene layers, plasmonic resonances are tailored to provide a dual band as well as an improved bandwidth absorption. Unit cell of the design...
